I would like to thank everyone who came and supported the Thursday night cards.
Another fun filled success throughout the winter months, with many Fish and Chip suppers enjoyed by all, and raising £340 for charity.
See you soon.

To All Swindon Bowls Club Members.
As many of you will know, our recent Ron West Trophy Tournament was yet again an outstanding success. The weather was kind to us, there were some excellent matches played and everyone involved had a good time.
As a result of this years event, the Club was able to donate £162 to both MacMillan Cancer Support and the Alzheimer’s Society and letters of thanks from both charities are on display on the noticeboard in the clubhouse.
Congratulations go to this years winner, Mrs Jean McCaffery, who also won this tournament in 2017. An incredible achievement, well done Jean.
Sincere thanks must also go to Derek Caddy, Bill Pearce and all the other members involved in making this tournament a huge success.
We are delighted to announce that Barry Wheeler won the 2017 Denis Uncle’s Trophy for Services to Bowls Wiltshire.
Huge congratulations to Barry on this incredible achievement.
Friday 22nd September saw the culmination of another tremendously successful Swindon Bowls Club, Floodlit Tournament.
Fourteen teams played for places in the semi-finals and finals and at the end of the week the successful teams were “Westlecot”, “Penhill Boys”, “No More Novices” and “Ciderheads”.
The Eventual winner of this years competition was Westlecot with the Penhill Boys finishing second.
After every game, all players enjoyed a lovely meal cooked by the SBC Ladies and Thursday saw the drawing of the fantastic raffle organised by Chris O’Leary.
Our thanks to all the ladies for your hard work during the week and a special thank you to our sponsor A.C.Watson and Son Ltd.
Congratulations to Jim O’Leary for organising yet another great tournament and we all forward to next year’s Floodlit.
The winner of the Ron West Trophy competition was Mrs Jean McCaffery, in second place was Harry Langley and in third place was Carl Fernandes.
A total of £400 was raised through the raffles and match fees, and this included a cheque for £50 donated by the West family, for the winner to donate to their chosen charity.
The charities that Jean has chosen, each to receive an equal share, are the Prospect Hospice and MacMillan Nurses.
Our grateful thanks to all who took part in the competition and donated prizes for the raffle on the last evening, making the event a tremendous success.
Derek Caddy and Bill Pearce.
